This course was completed in 1999 and is beautifully set against the Bot-River Lagoon between Cape Town and Hermanus. The scenery is outstanding and the championship course is in pristine condition. Rated one of the top courses in South Africa.

Situated between the villages of Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek and is one of the favourite courses among visiting overseas guests not only for it's lush appearance but also for it's excellent clubhouse facilities. The course is well-maintained and is always in good condition. Accurate tee shots are necessary on this narrow course especially as it tends to get windy during the summer months in this part of the world.

This course is situated in Cape Town's northern suburbs and in recent times has shown immense improvement. The clubhouse has had a complete facelift and is now a top-notch facility with commanding views of the distant mountins. The course has the reputation of being less demanding than the other Cape courses. Plenty of open space and flat terrain allow a degree of error that will not be penalised too severely.

The Erinvale Golf Estate successfully hosted the World Cup of Golf in 1996. On the course there are two different moods. The first nine holes are built on flat terrain with plenty of strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. The second nine holes are on undulating high ground. Here the scenic splendour might distract the players from the continuing challenge. The greens are huge and well-shaped. Erinvale is also a real estate development where homes blend well into the landscape.

Situated on the Garden Route this scenic course remains one of the popular stops for golfers. The Garden Route is one of South Africa's major tourist attractions and once there it is easy to see why. The scenery is breathtaking and the course itself is one the prettiest in the country.

On this, South Africa's only true links course, you should make a point of visiting the 19th Hole before playing your round. From the bar of Milnerton you will be afforded one of the great views of Table Mountain. As in true links fashion the area is extremely windy and this will determine the degree of difficulty you will encounter. Should the South Easter be blowing you will go out with the wind at your back and then turn for home and the second nine. On the way back you will have keep your head bowed if the wind is blowing but may be able to afford yourself a view of the sandy beaches and the beautiful mountain in the background.

Paarl valley provides the scenic setting for this charming golf course. Set in the Boland some 45 min from Cape Town this course has undergone a radical change in the last few years. A real estate development adjacent to the old 18 holes as allowed for the building f a new nine holes that is absolutely superb. Every hole brings water into play on this new nine and it can be extremely challenging for the average golfer. One nine of the old course has recently been revamped to bring it in line with the new nine and now the remaining nine has been closed for re-development. Once open this course will have 27 holes as well as a brand new clubhouse and hotel facilities. This course is a must for any touring golfer, although it can get very hot in summer so remember to drink plenty of water and wear a good hat.

Plettenberg Bay is the playground of the rich along the Garden Route and the golf course is nestled in the picturesque Piesang Valley. This is a charming resort golf course has recently undergone a well-orchestrated upgrading programme. None of the charm has been lost and now you can enjoy a quality course with bay view greens, the Piesang River and a host of different tree and bird species.

Rondebosch is situated between two busy highways but as you look back at the towering back of Table Mountain from the course you will see the distinguished, red roof buildings that make-up the University of Cape Town. The course is criss-crossed with canals and is fairly hilly in places. The canals necessitate some long carries over water and you will be hitting shots to greens both above and below you. The greens are in excellent condition and run perfectly true.

Situated in beautiful Knysna along the Garden Route. The Knysna Lagoon is the heart of this area which is blessed with forests, rivers, beautiful beaches. The town itself has a craft market feel and has been voted South Africa 's prettiest town a number of times. Sparrebosch is a wonderful golfing experience. From the time you arrive you will be enthralled by the scenery of the ocean on the one side and the lagoon on the other. Situated on the West Head at the entrance to the lagoon this Golf Estate will offer you an extreme golf challenge. The greens are massive and lightning quick. 4 Putts are not unusual so beware. Each hole offers a unique view of the surrounds and there are a number of blind tee shots so be sure to read the story on the tee boxes.

Westlake Golf Club   Westlake Golf Club
Region - Western Cape - Cape Town, Length 5750m, 18 Holes, Parkland, Par 72
Towering flat pines are the main features of this course with these stately tree creating natural avenues for the fairways. Westlake lies on the slope of Silvermine Mountain 30 minutes from Cape Town. The greens are in excellent condition and can be on the quick side. There is a scarcity of bunkers and a sense of space is given by the many wide fairways. The aforementioned trees should, however, keep you focused on the need for accuracy. Westlake has a wonderful clubhouse and a nice warm atmosphere and should be an extremely pleasant golf experience.
